General request - UI improvements to Buttons / controls
Hi,
I recently received a BRIIV 2 unit and was really impressed by the use of natural materials—it’s a unique and thoughtful approach to sustainable air filtration, which is brilliant.
Unfortunately While the unit does turn on when I press the buttons, they don’t always respond consistently—sometimes they react, other times they don’t. It’s hard to know whether the device is actually registering the input.
The user interface seems confusing and lacks clarity. All the buttons look nearly identical, and there’s little to no feedback to indicate what each one does. For example, I had no idea what the hour feature was for. The light just turns blue and then nothing seems to happen?. I assumed the unit would stay on and continue running, but when I returned, it had shut down.
The overall design just isn’t intuitive. At this price point, I expected something much more user-friendly. If basic controls like power, speed, or timer require guesswork or consulting a manual, that’s a design issue…
Speaking of the manual, most of the support materials direct you to BRIIV 1, which has a different interface and isn’t helpful for BRIIV 2 users. I also tried registering through the app using email, but that failed as well—and given its 2.2-star rating, it seems I’m not alone in running into these issues.
If you release an updated version that improves the functionality and UI, I think offering a discount to existing BRIIV 2 owners would be a fair and appreciated gesture.

Hi,
Thanks so much for your feedback on this! You may find our article on how to use the touch controls or how to set one hour mode useful; some users find that the touch controls take a little getting used to, and based on your description of the 1 hour mode it sounds like you may be holding the button down for too long. I’ve popped some tips below for you in terms of use which may be helpful.
To wake the Briiv up, use a flat hand on the touch display. The lights on the unit should come on, and you can use the left and right oval buttons and the larger central dot to control the Briiv 2. The displayed icons are like touch controlled buttons inside the Briiv, so when increasing or decreasing the speed you only need to press the button once, and you may need to wait a moment while the Briiv processes the command. This can be seen can be seen in this video; essentially after each press you want to move your finger away out of the 'range' of the control.
Regarding the manual, I'll pass this on to our team. All the QR codes in the quick start guide should link to Briiv 2/2 Pro information, and the help articles can be differentiated using the titles. We'll look into making this clearer and more accessible.
If you're having trouble connecting to the app I'd recommend following the steps in the video on the help article, and checking the app troubleshooting. You can also email us directly on ask@briiv.co.uk and our team can assist with getting you connected.
Thank you again for the feedback, and please let us know if you have any other questions or comments.
