Briiv uses a fan in the base to pull the air through three layers of filtration.
The first layer is the moss, which can remove particles as small as 10 micrometres (PM10). This includes dust and allergens such as pet dander or pollen. The second layer is the coconut filter which removes particulates as small as 5 micrometres, which includes combustion emissions and smoke. The final filter layer is the nano matrix which filters PM2.5 particles from the air, including harmful fine particulates. The nano matrix also contains activated carbon, which pulls odours and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from the air.
The improvement will be dependent on how high the initial room pollution is, so if the room starts off with a very high particulate count, the reduction will be a lot more than a room that already has a very low particulate count. Briiv delivers approximately 51 cubic feet per minute of purified, clean air at its maximum setting.
It takes 60 minutes to filter all the air in a 4m x 4m room through Briiv, in line with standard Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) tests.
