Does the moss filter need to be watered, fed or washed?

The moss in Briiv is the easiest plant you'll ever have, as you don't need to do anything!

Ensure you don't allow the Reindeer Moss come into contact with the water at all, because this will start the decomposition process of the moss. Before the reindeer moss is packed up and sent out it is naturally treated to help it retain its vibrancy and springiness, but water will break this down and the moss will be unable to filter your air efficiently.

If your Reindeer Moss looks particularly dusty before it's time to replace it (we recommend replacing the moss every year, and you can buy replacement filters here) you can give it a refresh by carefully taking from the glass and shaking the dust out. We'd recommend using a sieve or strainer to do this outside, or over the bin. You can then pop the moss back and continue to let Briiv filter your air.

The Yorkshire moss can be washed, but only when removed from the unit. Outside of an occasional wash, you don't want the Yorkshire Moss to stay wet as it needs to be dry to act as an effective filter. Your can learn how to wash the Yorkshire Moss here.
