What do I do if there is a build up of dust on my moss filter?

If your Reindeer moss looks particularly dusty before it's time to replace it you can give it a refresh by carefully taking from the glass and shaking the dust out. We'd recommend using a sieve or strainer to do this outside, or over the bin. You can then pop the moss back and continue to let Briiv filter your air.

If your Yorkshire moss is dusty you can refresh it by washing it! This cannot be done for the other filters.

Using water and a few drops of concentrated disinfectant, you can use the hessian bag that the moss is supplied with to wash it in. Alternatively, you can use a sieve or colander.

The moss should be washed by hand in a sink or clean container. 

1. Fill a sink or container with 1 litre of warm or cool water and a few drops of concentrated disinfectant.
2. Leave the moss to soak for 5 minutes in the water, then rinse with fresh cold water.
3. Squeeze the Yorkshire moss until no more water can be removed. Put the moss back into Briiv 2 and spread it out so it is not clumped together from the washing process.
4. Run Briiv 2 for at least 6 hours at speed 3 or above while the moss dries out.
