Briiv works in a similar way to standard HEPA filters in that it filters the air to remove pollutants such as dust, pollen, and pet dander. It also has activated carbon in the nano matrix filter which works to remove VOCs and odours.
The main difference is that HEPA filters are slightly more efficient, and can do the job of Briiv in a shorter amount of time. Of course, Briiv makes up for this by using almost entirely natural materials and has a low running cost, especially when compared to standard air purifiers on the market. You can see our continual flow test results here.
Briiv filters also don't use nearly the same amount of plastic as a standard HEPA filter. Normally these filters would be housed in a plastic frame, but in the case of Briiv we use a cardboard housing which can be recycled at the end of its life.
