Like many other smart devices, Briiv creates a wireless network in order to communicate with and connect to other devices. This is known as a soft access point, and is integrated into the hardware of the Briiv. This is so that your Briiv can connect to your smartphone and be controlled via the app.
Briiv will generate its own WiFi network which your smartphone or tablet can join. This also allows Briiv to connect to your home WiFi network and receive information like timezones and firmware updates.
To connect your Briiv, you must go through the set-up process detailed here. If you don't set your Briiv up in the app, it will not have access to your home WiFi network or smart devices.
If you do connect Briiv, the device should no longer show up in your list of WiFi networks. If after set-up you can still see the device as a WiFi network, there may be a connectivity issue with the device or it may need to be reset.
