One useful feature of Briiv is that you can now connect it to your Alexa! This means you can use voice commands to control the Briiv, and if you have units in different rooms of your home you can get specific!
To access your link code your Briiv 2.0 app needs to be on at least version 2.1.8
Before you start
Ensure you have the Alexa app downloaded to your phone, and sign in you your Amazon account. You’ll want to be nearby to your Alexa, and having Briiv in your sights will help with the set-up process.
You’ll also want to have your link code to hand. You can find this by going to the Briiv app and pressing and holding on the name of the unit you want to connect to Alexa. You’ll now be able to see the unit serial number, firmware version, and link code.
Open your Alexa App and click ‘More’, then ‘Skills & Games’.
Search for Briiv and select the skill ‘Briiv 2.0’.
Launch the skill.
Select the Alexa device you want to use to control the Briiv.
After enabling the skill, your Alexa will prompt you to name the room that your Briiv is in and enter your link code. Alexa needs to do this so it knows how to differentiate between units.
First you need to name the room that your Briiv is in. Try “Alexa, create Office”.
You’ll be prompted to say your link code, which will allow Alexa to connect to your Briiv unit.
You’re all set up!
If you want to control your Briiv via Alexa you need to launch the skill by saying ‘Alexa, start air filter’, ‘Alexa, launch air filter’, or ‘Alexa, air filter’. Once the skill is launched you can give the command! Remember, you need to tell Alexa both the command and the room name for the action to work.
While the Alexa integration is still fairly new we’ve created a list of prepared commands that you can use. If you try a command that doesn’t work, or if you think something’s missing, please let us know over on our Community!
Try saying:
“Turn on boost mode in office”
“Turn off boost mode in office”
“Set fan speed in office to 3”
“Change fan speed in office to 2”
“In office I want to change fan speed to 3”
